This Disclaimer applies to all users, students, and counsellors using the AppWell platform and its white-label branded versions (the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree to the statements below.
1. Not a Medical or Therapy Service
The Platform is not intended to provide:
Counselling or psychotherapy
Diagnosis or treatment of mental-health conditions
Medical or clinical advice
Crisis intervention
Professional health assessments
AppWell Inc. is not a healthcare provider, clinic, or medical device manufacturer.
The Platform is a wellness technology tool designed for educational, self-reflective, supportive, and non-clinical purposes.
If you require mental-health treatment, medical advice, or therapeutic services, you must contact a qualified professional directly.
2. AI-Generated Content
The Platform includes AI-assisted features that may provide:
Prompts
Reflections
Wellness insights
Educational suggestions
General informational content
You acknowledge that:
AI outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate
AI is not a substitute for professional judgement
AI is not therapy
AI does not provide diagnosis or treatment recommendations
AI responses must not be relied upon for decisions involving health, safety, or well-being
AppWell is not responsible for harm or misunderstandings arising from reliance on AI responses.
3. No Crisis or Emergency Support
The Platform does not provide crisis response or emergency services.
We do not monitor user activity, chats, messages, or communications with counsellors.
If you are experiencing a crisis or emergency, or if you are at immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, you must seek help immediately through:

4. Counsellor Services Outside the Platform
Counsellors listed on the Platform are independent professionals.
You acknowledge that:
AppWell does not supervise counsellors
AppWell does not verify or guarantee their credentials
AppWell does not provide, monitor, or host counselling sessions
All sessions occur through third-party tools not controlled by AppWell
Any relationship formed is strictly between you and the counsellor, not AppWell
AppWell is not responsible for any actions, omissions, advice, or services provided by counsellors.
5. No Storage of Personal Health Information (PHI)
AppWell does not collect, store, or process:
Therapy session notes
Clinical records
Medical histories
Treatment information
Personal health information regulated under PHIPA
The Platform is not designed for regulated clinical documentation.
6. Third-Party Tools and Platform Links
The Platform may link to or integrate with third-party applications (e.g., video platforms, AI processors, analytics tools).
AppWell:
Does not endorse these tools
Does not control their practices
Is not responsible for their content, security, or privacy policies
Use of third-party tools is at your own discretion and risk.
7. Personal Responsibility
By using the Platform, you agree and acknowledge that:
You are responsible for your own wellness decisions
The Platform is for informational and wellness purposes only
You must seek in-person or professional help when needed
You will not rely solely on the Platform or AI responses in situations requiring professional advice or emergency care

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AppWell is not liable for:
Any harm resulting from your reliance on AI content
Services provided by counsellors
Third-party system failures
Missed emergencies or crisis situations
Loss of data, emotional distress, indirect or incidental damages
Use of the Platform is entirely at your own risk.
